High School Lacrosse Frequently Asked Questions

When is the spring season team meeting?

The meeting will be scheduled for fall 2024. Watch for a school announcement.

When does registration open?

Registration is scheduled to open with the team meeting.

When does the spring season start?

The spring season starts on March 3, 2025 and runs through the first week of June.

What is the practice schedule?

The practice schedule is Monday-Friday 6pm to 7:30pm or 7:30 to 9pm alternating weeks.

Do I need to attend every practice?

Yes practice attendance is mandatory.

Can I play for Summit if I attend a different school?

No. Any exception to this policy must follow BLSD and OSAA policies.

Where is the home field?

Our home field is the Summit football stadium. We play on the turf and under the lights.

Do I need a matching varsity style helmet to play varsity?

Yes. Helmets must match in varsity contests. We recommend youth players buy this helmet, so they don’t need to purchase a second helmet later in their high school career.

Who is responsible for travel expenses?

Families and players are responsible for all travel and related expenses. There are a few expenses covered by the club that will be stated prior to traveling.

Why are there participation fees?

Oregon high school lacrosse is a club sport as defined by the OSAA. The club receives zero funding from the school district and relies solely on fundraising, volunteers, and team fees.

What is your relationship with Summit High School?

The high school staff operates outside of the athletic department but is responsible to the athletic director and associated staff. Summit High School lacrosse coaches are working to develop the lacrosse community around Summit, Pacific Crest, and Miller schools.

What is your relationship with the Summit lacrosse board?

Westside Boys Lacrosse provides oversight, logistics support, and funding for the Summit Boys Lacrosse program.

What are the OHSLA, OSAA, and NFHS?

The OHSLA (Oregon High School Lacrosse Association) runs the high school league.

The OSAA (Oregon Sports Activities Association) provides administration guidance & policies.

The NFHS (National Federation of High Schools) provides technical game rules & regulations.
