We believe in education and will promote a high academic standard, encouraging our players to strive for excellence in the classroom and on the field.
We believe that athletic competition is an ideal avenue to learn many “life lessons” that cannot be taught in a classroom and we take this responsibility to our athlete’s character development seriously.
We will prioritize integrity and character over all else in our interactions and will be positive role models for other students and members of the community at all times.
We treat ourselves, teammates, coaches, parents, opponents, officials, and school staff with empathy, dignity, and respect at all times.
We believe that there are Four Roles in any athletic contest, Player, Coach, Official, and Spectator. YOU can only be ONE of these at any given meeting. Stick to your role, and be the best you can be, without concern for anyone else’s role in the event.
Westside Boys Lacrosse
Westside Boys Lacrosse is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization that supports Boys Lacrosse at Summit High School.
WBL supports Summit Boys Lacrosse starting from the youth program all the way through the varsity program. The high school boys program supports a Varsity, JV, and JV2 team. The Summit Youth program supports boys 7/8, 5/6, and 3/4 grade teams.
As an OSAA designated “club” level program, the high school lacrosse teams at Summit receive no financial support from the school or Bend La Pine School District. The player fees we collect do not cover the costs of operating our programs, which include OHSLA and OYLA dues, official’s fees, coaching salaries, field usage, equipment, and travel. WBL is very active in fundraising to make sure our programs can compete at the highest level and to ensure their sustainable success.
WBL has a board of directors that oversee all the details of operating and sustaining a quality lacrosse program. The board treasurer manages all funds, sets our annual budget, and works with the program directors to ensure we operate in a fiscally conservative manner, taking into consideration both near and long term objectives.
WBL is constantly seeking ways to improve our program and looking to the future as to how we can continue to be successful at all levels.
Player Scholarships are available to participate in all of our programs for families that cannot afford the registration fee.
